SUMMARY:Capacity to Execute: The Resource Behind Sustainable Performance
DESCRIPTION:For Community Social Services\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEnergy is one of the most important – most overlooked – drivers of focus\, resilience\, decision-making\, and how well you show up day to day. This session introduces “capacity to execute” as a resource that can be strengthened over time. It shapes your ability to access the cognitive and emotional systems you need in the moment\, under pressure\, and over time: the clarity to think\, the steadiness to stay present\, the judgement to respond effectively. \n\nGrounded in nearly a decade of resarch and real-world application\, this session builds on what you already know about well-being by exploring the cognitive\, behavioral\, and relational patterns that can afffect your energy and capacity. This is particularly relevant in roles like yours\, where the mental\, emotional\, and relational demands are high every day. \n\nThrough science-based insights\, guided self-reflection\, hands-on practice\, you’ll learn to recognize your own patterns and where you sit on the capacity continuum. You’ll also explore a practical four-part framework – plugging energy leaks\, increasing energy\, optimizing how you spend it\, and managing relational energy – to start shifting it upward. You’ll leave with tactical\, immediately usable micro-habits to build sustainable capacity – not simply to get through the day\, but to continue your vital work while protecting the capacity that drives your performance\, health and relationships. \n\nBy the end of this session\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand what capacity to execute is\, its role in sustainable performance and recognize where they currently sit on the capacity continuum.\nApply a four-part framework for managing personal energy – plugging energy leaks\, increasing energy\, optimizing how it’s spent\, and managing relational energy.\nImplement tactical\, immediately usable micro-habits that protect performance\, health\, and relationships.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\nSarah Deane \n\nSarah Deane is a researcher\, educator and founder advancing the science of human energy and performance. As CEO of MEvolution\, she has spent nearly a decade exploring\, applying\, and refining a framework for human energy as a measurable asset – mapping its inputs and outputs\, identifying what drains and restores it\, and quantifying its direct relationship to performance and wellbeing. Her work is grounded in a core proposition: Performance = Capability x the Capacity to Execute – and that capacity is determined by the brain’s available energy and how effectively it is used. Her evidence-based framework has been applied across enterpirse\, healthcare\, and academia. She has studied human behavior around the globe and led HP’s Worldwide Employee Workplace Experience Program team serving over 320\,000 employees. She has presented at conferences such as SXSW\, HRWest\, Gartner\, and The World Leaders in Data & AI Forum\, and her insights have appeared in Fast Company\, The Wall Street Journal\, Thrive Global\, SHRM\, and Psychology Today amongst others. Most recently\, she was named a Reworked Contributing Author of the Year for her work examining human capacity in the context of leadership\, organizational effectiveness\, and the age of AI. \n\nSarah holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence\, teaches her own highly rated courses at Standard University Continuing Studies on energy management and values\, and has guest lectured for the Stanford Graduate School of Business and School of Medicine on managing energy as the currency of performance. This fall she presents at Stanford’s Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE)\, alongside Dr Alvarez\, on the link between capacity and compassion in caring roles. \n\nRegister
