SUMMARY:Community of Practice: Return-to-Work Programs in Social Services
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging Community of Practice meeting on Return to Work Programs in Social Services in BC. This session will provide a collaborative space for professionals across the sector to come together\, guided by OHS and PHS Advisors\, to explore challenges and solutions related to supporting employees returning to work after injury\, illness\, or extended leave. \nThrough small breakout discussions\, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with peers and dive into key issues such as building supportive return-to-work cultures\, addressing both physical and psychological safety\, and navigating accommodations in complex work environments. Your insights and lived experiences are vital as we identify practical strategies that work on the ground. \nAt the end of the session\, we’ll reconvene as a group to share key takeaways and reflect on opportunities for continued learning and improvement across the sector. \nWhether you’re supporting staff through the return-to-work process or working to strengthen policies and practices in your organization\, this meeting is designed to equip you with fresh perspectives\, helpful tools\, and a strong professional network. \nIf you’re responsible for health and safety within a social service organization\, this is a valuable opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals and contribute to advancing safe and sustainable return-to-work practices in your community. \nPlease note: This meeting is exclusive to health and safety professionals in the following WorkSafeBC Classification Units: \n\n766007 – Counselling or Social Services (not elsewhere specified)\n766010 – Life and Job Skills Training\n766017 – Residential Social Service Facility
