Putting People First
CSSHSA has partnered with the Canadian Mental Health Association of BC (CMHA BC) to promote and develop workplace mental health resources for the Community Social Services sector. This initiative was originally launched in 2020 as BC’s Hub for Workplace Mental Health to help support the mental health of those whose occupations were particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the pandemic has passed, the need for workplace mental health supports is as pressing as ever.
Through generous funding from the Province of British Columbia, the CMHA BC has launched a new website called People Working Well. The name reflects our vision: BC workplaces that put people first. Our team will be working in collaboration with CMHA BC to promote and enhance the free resources available to the sector through the website.
Fostering A Supportive Environment
The primary objective of this collaborative project is to enhance mental health in community social services workplaces across BC. This initiative will offer a Workplace Psychological Health and Safety Consultant for a two-year period to actively promote mental health in the sector and conduct a Workplace Psychological Health and Safety Needs Assessment, complementing the CMHA project.
Mental wellness is crucial in the Community Social Services sector as it fosters a supportive environment, enhances service delivery, and improves overall well-being for both workers and employers.
