Overview
Creating a safe and prepared workplace begins with understanding how to prevent fires and respond effectively when emergencies occur. This awareness-level course equips front-line workers, supervisors, and managers with the knowledge and practical skills to identify fire hazards, reduce risks, and respond effectively during fire-related emergencies. Using interactive learning activities and realistic scenarios relevant to community social service environments, participants will explore key fire prevention principles, emergency response protocols, and evacuation procedures. The course emphasizes proactive hazard identification, effective decision-making, and individual responsibilities during an emergency. By the end of the course, learners will be able to recognize potential fire risks, take appropriate preventative action, support orderly evacuations, and contribute to a culture of safety that helps protect all workers, volunteers, and the people we support.
